Be prepared for a variety of weather, with the possibility of cold, windy and wet conditions.<br \/>\nIt is not necessary to \u2018dress\u2019 for evening meals; casual, comfortable clothing is sufficient.<\/p>\n<h3>Essential items<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Hiking Boots\/Shoes<br \/>\n<\/strong>It is essential that any hiking boots are \u201cbroken in\u201d (i.e. walked in\/worn every day for at least three or four weeks prior to wearing them on the Walk for Wilai).<br \/>\nThere are many hiking boots on the market, and you need to find the best boot for your foot configuration. One recommended brand, that adjusts well to the individual shape of your foot; and has a durable sole and comfortable uppers is the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scarpa.com\/hiking\">SCARPA brand<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Socks<br \/>\n<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.paddypallin.com.au\/wigwam.html\">Wigwam brand<\/a> Hiking socks are highly recommended.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Day pack<br \/>\n<\/strong>A Day Back Pack \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/camelbak.com.au\/packs\/hike-walk\/new-category\/\">with \u201ccamel\u201d<\/a> water holder inside is advisable.<\/p>\n<p><strong>First Aid kit<br \/>\n<\/strong>You will need a Personal first aid kit that includes a variety of Band aids! For those prone to blisters consider a few <a href=\"https:\/\/www.compeed.com.au\/product\/blister\/?gclid=CjwKCAiA1fnxBRBBEiwAVUouUqvkT1VZMHCH2CdYyOwaP2wZhJfk3OOEGZbjLv7Q4HF26EtRNrG7eRoCeqQQAvD_BwE\">Compeeds<\/a> which are basically a hardcore bandaids that protect while sticking to your skin until your blister has healed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rain jacket\/Poncho<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Long-sleeve shirt with collar<\/strong> (for sun protection)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sunhat<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Long pants<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Warm jacket and warm hat<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>High factor sunscreen<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Insect repellent<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Sunglasses<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Toiletries<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Watch or alarm clock<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Sleeping Bag<br \/>\n<em>(Make sure it is the right sleeping bag for YOU!
